Chad Schmidt, Principal

Mr. Schmidt is honored to serve Tomball Elementary as Principal.  Mr. Schmidt has more than twenty years of experience working in elementary education.  He has taught 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades and has served as a team leader, instructional specialist, assistant principal and principal.  Mr. Schmidt was the principal of Anderson Elementary in Spring ISD before joining Tomball this summer.  Before moving to Spring, he was a teacher in Channelview ISD and in Amarillo ISD.   Mr. Schmidt received his bachelor's degree in Elementary Reading from West Texas A&M University and his master's degree in Education Administration from the University of St. Thomas.  He is committed to provide the best learning environment for all students at Tomball Elementary.  



Kerri Ashlock, Assistant Principal

Mrs. Ashlock earned her bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a Reading specialization from Texas A&M University-Commerce in 1999. She began her teaching career as a fifth grade teacher in Hempstead ISD. In 2001, Mrs. Ashlock joined Tomball Elementary as a third grade teacher. After she earned her Master’s degree in Education Administration from Sam Houston State University in 2007, she served Tomball Elementary and Creekside Forest Elementary as a Gifted and Talented Specialist. Later, Mrs. Ashlock joined Tomball Intermediate School where she served as an ESL Specialist and a fifth grade Language Arts teacher. Mrs. Ashlock returned home to TES as an assistant principal in 2013.


Paula Maeker, Assistant Principal

Mrs. Maeker has the honor of serving as Assistant Principal at Tomball Elementary. Mrs. Maeker has more than eighteen years of experience as an elementary teacher, literacy specialist, instructional coach, district program coordinator and national educational consultant. Her mission as an educator is to joyfully serve, support and inspire educators to maximize every child’s potential, every day. Mrs. Maeker is also an avid volunteer with the organization Destination Imagination: Project Outreach, which encourages students from around the world to seek out opportunities to be in service of others by solving real-world challenges that affect their communities. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Alabama, Birmingham and received her master of education in school administration from Lamar University. She holds Texas Principal, Master Reading Teacher PK–12, Generalist EC-4, and ESL K–12 teaching certifications.
