Welcome to 4th grade at Tomball Elementary!
My name is Sarah Barranco, and I am excited to be a part of the TES family this year. I have been teaching since 2006.  I was born and raised in Fairbanks, Alaska.  After graduating high school, I decided to go to school in Hawaii.  Yes, I was running away from the cold weather.  I graduated from Chaminade University in 2005 with a Bachelor in History and Minor in Criminal Justice.  After Chaminade, I attended the University of Phoenix and received a master's in Elementary Education.
When I'm not at school I am a mother, wife, sister, and daughter.  I have two handsome boys, Conrad and Knox.  Conrad will be going into 7th grade and Knox will be starting Kindergarten here at TES.  I love spending time with my family and traveling. I also cycle and skate for exercise and just for fun.  I have a twin brother who is part of the Army Blues Band and an older sister that lives here in Spring.  Both my parents are retired teachers from Alaska.
Teaching is a passion of mine.  I want all the children to love learning and understand we are all lifelong learners.  4th Grade is going to be a blast!
Please feel free to contact me whenever you have any questions.

Lego Robotics

Due to the overwhelming demand to join Lego Robotics we will have to have two sessions. The 4th graders club will be December 5th  through March 5th. All fourth graders who signed up for Lego Robotics will begin their club on December 5th, not this week as originally scheduled.

Treble Makers-Choir

Choir students should arrive at school NO EARLIER than 7:25 and MUST arrive by 7:40 for practice every Monday and Wednesday. Students will not be allowed to enter the building until 7:25 and if they arrive late, you must drop off your student in the car rider line. Please contact us if you have any questions.

Reminder about 10/05 and 10/08

Dear Parents,

This Friday, Oct.5th, is an early release day.  School will be dismissed at 12:50.  Early release days affect our lunch schedule. The school will not serve a hot lunch; therefore, we encourage everyone to bring a sack lunch from home for this Friday.  However, if you are unable to pack a lunch for your child, your child can purchase a school sack lunch. If purchasing a sack lunch, your child will receive cheese sticks with marinara sauce, milk, an apple, and veggies with ranch dressing.

Also, don’t forget that we do not have school on Monday, October 8th.  This is a student holiday.  We hope you and your family enjoy your 3 day weekend.

Reading Every Night Matters

Please have your kids read at home for 20 minutes or longer.  We want to build their stamina and love for reading.  Reading at home and at school is going to build their confidence and help with comprehension.  Talk with your kiddos about what they are reading and ask questions.  Thank you for your help at home.

First Week of School

First Week of School

Hello TES families!
Our first week of school has gone so well! All of my students are incredibly sweet and have been adjusting getting back into the routine of school. We have set up our notebooks for class, practiced our schedule, and routines.
Parents, you have received the Wednesday folder this week in your child's backpack. You will notice a sign and return side, and a keep at home side in the folder. Anything in the sign and return side must be returned. The items located in the keep at home side still must be reviewed, and some are optional to return. Please clear out the folder each week and return it to school before the end of the week.
If you have been at TES in the past, you may have noticed the conduct sheet was not included in the folder. This year you will get to see your child's behavior report online in their grade book. You will receive an email on the day of any issues that occur. We will discuss this more at Parent Orientation!
