Hi! I will be your child's art teacher this year.  I am very excited to be able to teach art to all Kindergarten through 4th grade students in our school.  This will be my twenty-first year teaching so I have a lot of art experience that I can't wait to share with your young artists. I am certified in art to teach early childhood to 12th grade level.   My specialty is portraiture and mural painting.  I have learned under comissioned portrait artists at Woodlands Art league.   I have taken year long art classes at the Glassell Art school in Houston.
I have also taken classes at the Museum of Fine arts in Houston and Pearl Fincher Museum.
My goal for our young artist is to let them explore a large variety of materials, techniques and experience art lessons from different cultures and eras while learning about different artist from past and present.
I have lived in Texas my whole life. I am married to a super smart supportive husband named David. We have a beautiful sweet girl named Alexis who attends Tomball Elementary. We have three spoiled dogs named Lexy,  Brody and Kally. I am an animal lover! I have helped adopt out dogs and find them homes.
I am very close to my family my parents and in laws whom live here in Texas. I have had several students win in various contest over there so I will encourage them to have fun and do their best. I look forward to a wonderful year full of amazing oppurtunities to teach your children and plan exciting artworks. I truly enjoy teaching young students!

3rd and 4th Grade Art

Students  are exploring many different materials in their creation of their art.
They are working with pastels, metallic paint, water color and now they  will begin a print making unit which involves carving.  Then,  they will get to enjoy creating clay and learning many techniques and ways to carve and model their clay pieces.  After the clay dries and is fired, students will paint them whatever colors they would like.

Rodeo Art Show

I look forward to seeing all 26 students at our Rodeo Art Show this year.  It is so hard to choose, so I have coworkers vote on nameless artworks that I have narrowed down.  It is truly an honor to represent Tomball Elementary and I hope all families will come to the Rodeo art show at Tomball Junior High this Saturday, January 7th from  9:00 a.m. -12:00.  Anyone is welcome to come whether your art is in it or not.  It is a great community event and you will be pleasantly surprised to see such talented art!
Happy New Year!

Glazing Clay

This week and the week after spring break we are painting clay!   This is so much fun for students so please try to be at school so you do not miss out on all of the fun!  Makeups will be done the first week back from spring break for students that missed due to illness.
Art Camp flyers will be going out after spring break your children can request one from me.

Clay week Yea!

We are making clay in all grade levels!  The kids are having such a great time. Please make sure they attend school and are not pulled out early.  This is such a great time of year.  It takes a month to make, fire and then paint and refire a piece so that it can be completed.  I will be firing about 700 pieces for students to take home in May.
